Apollonia Kotero

Patricia Apollonia Kotero (born Patricia Apollonia Kotero) is an American actor, singer, and former model. She was the main female singer for Apollonia 6 and co-starred in Prince's film Purple Rain from 1984. Apollonia was named an actress and singer by Prince. The 1980s were a time of change for her Apollonia was one of many other artists that benefited from Prince. Patricia Kotero, born 1959 in Santa Monica California began her career as a model and actress. The latter part of the 70s was when she appeared on CHiPS. In 1984, she was the title of female lead for Prince's Purple Rain (during which time the singer switched her names) and was replaced by Vanity in the female trio Vanity 6 singing with them in the movie with the title Apollonia 6. Sex Shooter was a minor hit for the group, however, she had an even bigger impact as Prince's duet partner with Take Me with You on the soundtrack. When the two had a falling out regarding the direction she was taking in her career Apollonia 6 split up and Kotero stopped her collaboration with Prince. After appearing in minor films (and as of the reports, refusing to take part on her role in the Purple Rain film Under the Cherry Moon) She was a part of the 1985-86 show on television called Falcon Crest. Apollonia had the opportunity to launch her debut album in 1988. It failed to leave a lasting impression with music fans and soon faded from the music scene. She stayed active, if she wasn't in the spotlight acting in the decade following with small appearances in films and on television. Even an exercise DVD was made available. Apollonia recorded a Spanish/English Album called Stay with Me in 1997. After going back to college and obtaining the degree of filmmaking, she founded her own production business.
